Is Summer Over?

OMG!!! Summer is just about gone. School for us starts in only TWO WEEKS. First of all, I haven't done ANY school shopping, second of all, I DON'T have a babysitter after next week, AND, I haven't even been to the beach yet this year. Does time fly or what. Austin and Avery will both be at Perryville Elem. School this year, hopefully it will be a great year. I don't think that Austin will have any problems, but you never know. He is used to Central Kentucky Christian Schools very small classes, so I hope all of the kids in one classroom doesn't distract him. Avery on the other hand will have no problem. He is very studious and likes school. Once back into the routine I think he will thrive yet again this year.

I know it has been a long time since my last post, so I thought I would update everyone on everything. The kids are doing great and of course it's summer, so Bryan has been extremely busy. Avery played baseball this summer, it was his first time ever with pitching machine and he did great. It is so fun to watch them learn the game....It is not "so fun" however, to have to sit in the heat.

Anyone who knows us at all knows that Avery looks just like me and Austin looks just like Bryan, however, the funny thing is that they act completely different. Avery is a hard worker and helps with everything...he is very shy and doesn't like to step out of his comfort zone. He works in the garden and helps Bryan with everything. Austin on the other hand is very laid back and almost lazy. He doesn't like to clean, work, or be hot...however he has this vibrant and outgoing personality (like me) and will talk to anyone! So in a nutshell, Austin looks like Bryan, acts like me. Avery looks like me and acts just like Bryan.

Stay tuned....maybe it won't take a year for another post!

I'm Back

Seriously, has it really been a YEAR. GEEEZZZZ what kind of slacker am I? Really nothing exciting going on here. Just always busy and on the go with the two kids. Avery is now 4 almost 5, can you believe it FIVE!!!! Austin is 3, and THANK GOODNESS he is potty trained. Poor thing, I didn't think that he was ever going to go potty.
Boys are the best (did you ever think you would hear me say that)?! They are so funny watching their little personallities grow and evolve. Avery is becoming my little shy, silly boy who is super intelligent. Austin is becoming the mischeivious, sneaky, outgoing one who comes up with the funniest things to say, and you wonder where in the world it came from. Avery cannot do anything but tell the truth, its just not in him to lie. Austin on the other hand would rather run a thousand miles than to tell you the truth about something he did, how in the world could two children be so different on every level. All I have to say is it makes for a great ride in our house.

I have officially started my new job, I am at the Main Office of Farmers National Bank now, moving from our Perryville Location. I am now a Mortgage Lender, Lending Adjustable and Fixed Rate Loans as well as some Government Lending......so come see me for all of your banking needs, we'll get ya taken care of. This past weekend we took one of our annual trips to the Farm Machinery Show (wooohhoooo), it was nice, it is getting so much easier now that Avery is older. This year we stayed for the National Truck and Tractor Pull Championship, so it was a long day. Anyway, I know I always say this, but I really am going to try and keep up with this blog......we'll see!

Let it snow, Let it snow, Keep the ICE

Ok so by now we ALL know that Kentucky along with several others got hit by this big storm...let me just start by saying that this is not what I ordered. I ordered SNOW not ICE. Our house has been tossed upside down, backwards, and around again. We lost electricity on a Tuesday morning and thankfully got it back late Friday night. But you know we had to pack up two dogs, two kids and ourselves to go to my moms house who had no electric either. She has whats called a fireplace or two, yes those became our best friend. The first night we were loving....everyone needs to rough it just a little. We roasted hot dogs and marshmallows in the fireplace, I even baked potatoes. (at this point thinking this isn't so bad). The next morning we ate cereal and donuts...okay, day two, I am ALL out of ideas, no cash in hand (did you know I worked at a bank, valuable lesson #1 ALWAYS have cash somewhere). No electricity, no gas, no debit card machines working and very little food to feed the SIX ppl staying under one roof. I guess my husband already knew lesson #1, so he was a life saverwith the cash. Lesson #2...kids in a house with parents that otherwise normally work, with no good food, no baybsitter as Maria called it (TV) no hot water, no lights and no heat is not a pretty site. Ohh and no grandparents to take care of them...even worse...FYI my mom left the house on Tues. morning for work ( at the electric company Inter county energy) and came home the following Tuesday night. It's a shame salary positions don't get overtime. Now she's back at work for no telling how many more days/nights. Several ppl still do not have electric but they are working as hard as they can...I PROMISE. Day 3 and 4 we finally got to Bryans generator and hooked up two refridgerators, and a deep freeze full of a BRAND NEW BEEF we had killed, along with all of the necessities like a coffee pot, curling iron, TV, and lamps. Needless to say it has been an eventful week. I am still not caught up with all the laundry and house work from being gone, you would think that not being there it would have stayed clean but with all of the tracking in and out we did, checking on our house, including the cat and the water pipes...I think that my house got more dirty than if we had been there. Not to mention that poor little Austin (who is my "schedule" and "routine" kid) is ALL OUT OF WHACK. He hasn't stopped whinning and being crabby since last Wednesday. He litterally wakes up in the morning attaches himself to my leg and cries when we pry him away so that I can go to work. Hopefully we will get him all back on track by week-end. I will get some pictures up soon, until then keep warm and love electricity.

December is OVER

December Is OVER
Thank goodness, December was waaayyy tooooooo complicated. Jan. so far has been nice and easy. My NEW plan is to try and keep my life that way too. Although I don't do resolutions, if I did, I would have to say that I would do what everyone else in the world does. Loose weight, get in shape, simplify my life/schedule. Of course I need to do all of these but hey, I would be like the rest of the world on that too......FAIL. My favorite saying is "If it were easy, everyone would do it...but its not, therefore that is why there are some of us out there who have to keep this world fat, out of shape and busy....That's me.....just contributing to society.....you're welcome.

Ok just kidding, lets get serious, Christmas was good, it was all a big blurrr, it went something like this. Go to work, come home change clothes, go somewhere open presents, eat, load up go somewhere else, eat, open presents fight over toys, load up go home crash, get up the next morning and; Go somewhere, eat, open presents fight over toys, load up, go somewhere else, open presents, fight over toys, eat, load up, go home, crash for 45 min, load up go somewhere else open presents, Yes EAT, Fight with our kids (b/c of course no one got there nap out) fight over toys, and load up...go home, crash and get up the next morning and go to work.
Tired yet, this is a true story only it was much more EXCITING (to say the least) in real life. I believe that it took me until Jan. 4 yes another true story....Jan 4 to actually unload all of the christmas presents from my car because we had to create more space in our house before unloading. Sad but true.... at how we are so spoiled.
Jan. is going to be a pretty lazy month of just hanging out and trying to clean my house up from all of the slacking I did in December....my laundry room is killing me right now. Some of the pics I included are from Christmas morning and Austins bed head, as well as the barn that my mom had made from Pop Pops tobacco sticks (how cool)??? Also are some pics of our New Years Eve get together.

Boys, Boys, Boys

Boy do they grow up fast. And where in the world do they come up with some of the stuff they come up with???? The other day I told Austin " no" and he ran out of his room and pointed that finger at me and said...."Don't you say me no" I mean come on, I thought I had till 4 years old before the back talk came....guess not....And Avery, he is hilarious. We were looking at the photo album from when Austin was little, and I said " AWWWW look at him, mommy is sad because we done have any little babies around here anymore" (and here's where I went wrong) " Avery don't you think that we need to have a baby sister..." and without missing a beat he said (just as serious as could be) " There is no sense in a little sister...I mean we have two boys and that's enough there is no need for a little sister...." Where do they learn these things???? (I think Avery got that one from his daddy, what do you think). It's hard to stop and enjoy these little things in life with everything being so busy around our house. This week has got to be the worst...Monday I cooked dinner for six and Tuesday I have a mtg after work and then Avery's Christmas...I mean Holiday Program at school and then on Wednesday I have a Christmas dinner for work and then have a City Council mtg....Thursday I am actually off work, but have a chiropractor appt., Family Pictures, a catering event AND BRYANS BIRTHDAY, guess he's gonna feel left out huh. Friday is a journey around Perryville, to all of the churches and Saturday is Avery's school Holiday Bazar AND Matthew's birthday party...I can't even remeber whats going on Sunday, but I hope nothing, cause I prolly gonna need a nap. Pray for us to get through this week and stay sain....staying sain.....are you kidding me, in our crazy, wild, loud household with two, I mean three (if you count Bryan) kids running around playing all the time....isn't it great?

Austin's 2nd Birthday

Well Austin is now two....we've been in the terrible two's for a few weeks now, but for the most part it's only at bedtime. He is into pointing and talking back, whoohooo!!!!! He is sleeping in a "big boy bed" now and that has been a struggle. We had a great birthday party. We had lots of friends and lots of fun in the big "jumpy thing" bounce house.

And yes the picture above is a cake I MADE for Austin!!!!!!
Avery just had his tonsils and adenoids removed and boy was that fun...He's doing much better now and haven't had anymore PUCKING at our house, whooohooo!!!! (ok I know that gross, but think about me having clean it up all the time).

Nothing has been going on, other than just getting ready for the big holidays, not having a CLUE what Santa is going to bring the boys, how sad is that, we need NOTHING. If anyone has any ideas let me know.

Our September vacation to Indian Shores, FL

How long has it been?????

Ok, I am having difficulties finding my cord that runs from my camara to my computer so it might be a few days for me to get some much needed new pics up!!!! I have now entered the wonderful world of facebook...I'm not sure why, I can't even keep up with this one, much less another page.
Let's see since March....Gosh where to start. The summer has flown by and now winter is almost here. We have a computer now so hopefully it will be much more convenient for me to update my blog.
This summer the boys switched over to Cental Kentucky Christian School and that has been really good for them. This fall we took another trip to Florida, to Indian Shores (down below Tampa), and then took a day and went to Orlando where we went to "Mickey's House." We had a great time and great weather....we just missed all of the hurricanes...We arrived just about 3 days after all of them hit. Since our September trip to Florida we have just been hanging out trying to keep up with all of the fall festivals. We have made it to the Forkland Festival and the Perryville Commemoration where the boys entered and won the Red Wagon decorating contest. I will try to get some pics up of that too.
Other than that the big election was this year and well I will have to say that I voted for myself. Our City Council term was up, there were six new council positions available where I stole first place by ONE BIG VOTE!!! We have a new slate this year with all new people.
As for other news in November....Avery had to get his tonsils and adenoids removed on Friday so we have been dealing with that all weekend/week. Today was my first day back to work and Avery's teacher said he just wasn't himself today....I guess that was my hint that he was a hand full! Hopefully we are on the mend now and pray for NO MORE SICKNESS AT OUR HOUSE. Okay I have taken up enough space for now, I will try to get those pics up in the next few days.

More Pics

Well I finally figured out how to get my pics from my camera to my computer to my page.....Boy this technology is killing me. Next I have to figure out this songlist stuff. Enjoy the pics and don't forget Avery's big third birthday is coming up on March 22. Thats right already three, PEEING ON THE POTTY and all. Next I will try to get all of our snow pics up...You should see the snowman that Bryan and Avery built.

I TAKE IT BACK

Okay I take it back....I told you last week that potty training was going to be the death of me, but I have to take it all back....And....I hope that I am not speaking too soon in saying that but it has been a breeze this second time around. I mean don't get me wrong we are still a work in progress but he is doing really well. Yippeeee...I think that him getting candy EVERY TIME he goes has something to do with it but whatever works.
Also on our list of concerns is preschool or no preschool I have called the Montessori and the Christian Academy in Harrodsburg and I don't know what we are going to do. If anyone has any other ideas or opinions on this let me know. Okay enough written, I will be waiting on pointers on potty training and preschool....all you teachers out there let me know. Email me jenniferwhitehouse@yahoo.com!!!!!!!!!

Long Time, No Post

Well lets see.....Since July, gosh ALOT has happened. We went on vacation to Indian Shores, Fl. It was great. We also took a day and went to Sea World and Avery still talks about the dolphins. Indian Shores is a quiet beach right down from Clearwater, it was great, no one was on the beach all week it was like our own private beach. Avery loved making sand castles and Austin....well, he just liked the taste of the sand.
Since then we have survived October which was Austins 1st birthday and I will try to get the pictures up next week. He absolutely loved cake....he buried his face in it.
Now that has you all caught up through October, November and December were just a blur because of all the holidays. "Santa" built Avery and Austin a train table and brought them all the accessories to go with it. Jan. was pretty laid back......which brings us to Feb.
So far in Feb. we have really kicked into potty training and BOY IS THAT A GOOD ONE.....OH MY....Everyone says that boys are more difficult, but at the rate were going my kids probably won't start school on time....they won't be potty trained. I have wishful thinking in that I plan on trying to get both boys potty trained this summer, all the trees and bushes will be blooming which means alot of running around peeing outside will be going on at my house. I am hoping that we can get Avery trained and Austin good and started by his second birthday in October. Of course if we can't get Austin to start talking by 1 1/2 years old I dont know how in the world we can get him potty trained by two, (ambition is a great thing).
Feb. also takes us to the FAMOUS farm machinery show in Louisville, which we attended last weekend. That was interesting....let's see, we had a set of grandparents, our two kids, and a nephew bringing the total to three kids under three and four adults taking care of them and Ill just tell you......we needed about four more adults to keep us all sane. Overall it was really fun and the kids love seeing all the big tractors and equipment. Okay I am running out of room and now that I have joined the digital world of cameras I should be able to write more and post more pictures more frequently....I will try to be better about keeping you updated in the future.

The Good O Fair

Well it's that time again...The County Fair. Of course we spent two days at the fair and another at the BABY CONTEST! That's right, Baby Contest. It was a long HOT day with WAY too many kids and parents thinking that they had the cutest baby. Needless to say we went to put Austin in the Diaper Derby because of his funny hands and feet crawling. And ended up coming home with two trophies...one for third place in the Diaper Derby and one for FIRST PLACE for Avery in the "Pretty Boy Contest" as daddy calls it. Also we woke up the next morning with mine and Austins' picture right on the front page of the City/Region section on the LEXINGTON HERALD. So needless to say it has been an eventful week and I am glad that it is over, because staying up all night for a tractor and truck pull and having to work the next day is just way too much for this old gal.

Technologically Challenged

Okay guys....I am trying to become a member of the 21st century. I have created THE BLOG!!!! Now I just have to figure out how to make it, manage it, and post pics. (Man this may take some time). HUMMMM, time, that is something I have NOTHING of. As you all know we now have TWO kids. Avery and Austin, Avery almost 2 1/2 and Austin now barely 8 months. If I was a good mom I might have some pics to post but I will have to check...then I will have to figure out how to get them.....Here!!! Avery is a wild child and Austin is starting to crawl and pull up. We haven't really done anything exciting this summer other than just doing the normal playing outside until mommy is pouring with sweat.

Avery is definitely an outdoors child, we have to slide, swing, water the garden/flowers, AND ride our little tractor at least once per day. After that we are really into Monsters Inc and Barnyard movies...it's so bad that we know almost every line in the movies.

Austin is into drooling, jabbering, crawling (on his hands and FEET), and saying mum and dada of course.

Thats all for now, I will try to keep you informed and get some pictures on this thing as well.
