Is Summer Over?
OMG!!! Summer is just about gone. School for us starts in only TWO WEEKS. First of all, I haven't done ANY school shopping, second of all, I DON'T have a babysitter after next week, AND, I haven't even been to the beach yet this year. Does time fly or what. Austin and Avery will both be at Perryville Elem. School this year, hopefully it will be a great year. I don't think that Austin will have any problems, but you never know. He is used to Central Kentucky Christian Schools very small classes, so I hope all of the kids in one classroom doesn't distract him. Avery on the other hand will have no problem. He is very studious and likes school. Once back into the routine I think he will thrive yet again this year.
I know it has been a long time since my last post, so I thought I would update everyone on everything. The kids are doing great and of course it's summer, so Bryan has been extremely busy. Avery played baseball this summer, it was his first time ever with pitching machine and he did great. It is so fun to watch them learn the game....It is not "so fun" however, to have to sit in the heat.
Anyone who knows us at all knows that Avery looks just like me and Austin looks just like Bryan, however, the funny thing is that they act completely different. Avery is a hard worker and helps with everything...he is very shy and doesn't like to step out of his comfort zone. He works in the garden and helps Bryan with everything. Austin on the other hand is very laid back and almost lazy. He doesn't like to clean, work, or be hot...however he has this vibrant and outgoing personality (like me) and will talk to anyone! So in a nutshell, Austin looks like Bryan, acts like me. Avery looks like me and acts just like Bryan.
Stay tuned....maybe it won't take a year for another post!

I'm Back
Seriously, has it really been a YEAR. GEEEZZZZ what kind of slacker am I? Really nothing exciting going on here. Just always busy and on the go with the two kids. Avery is now 4 almost 5, can you believe it FIVE!!!! Austin is 3, and THANK GOODNESS he is potty trained. Poor thing, I didn't think that he was ever going to go potty.
Boys are the best (did you ever think you would hear me say that)?! They are so funny watching their little personallities grow and evolve. Avery is becoming my little shy, silly boy who is super intelligent. Austin is becoming the mischeivious, sneaky, outgoing one who comes up with the funniest things to say, and you wonder where in the world it came from. Avery cannot do anything but tell the truth, its just not in him to lie. Austin on the other hand would rather run a thousand miles than to tell you the truth about something he did, how in the world could two children be so different on every level. All I have to say is it makes for a great ride in our house.
I have officially started my new job, I am at the Main Office of Farmers National Bank now, moving from our Perryville Location. I am now a Mortgage Lender, Lending Adjustable and Fixed Rate Loans as well as some Government Lending......so come see me for all of your banking needs, we'll get ya taken care of. This past weekend we took one of our annual trips to the Farm Machinery Show (wooohhoooo), it was nice, it is getting so much easier now that Avery is older. This year we stayed for the National Truck and Tractor Pull Championship, so it was a long day. Anyway, I know I always say this, but I really am going to try and keep up with this blog......we'll see!

Let it snow, Let it snow, Keep the ICE
Ok so by now we ALL know that Kentucky along with several others got hit by this big storm...let me just start by saying that this is not what I ordered. I ordered SNOW not ICE. Our house has been tossed upside down, backwards, and around again. We lost electricity on a Tuesday morning and thankfully got it back late Friday night. But you know we had to pack up two dogs, two kids and ourselves to go to my moms house who had no electric either. She has whats called a fireplace or two, yes those became our best friend. The first night we were loving....everyone needs to rough it just a little. We roasted hot dogs and marshmallows in the fireplace, I even baked potatoes. (at this point thinking this isn't so bad). The next morning we ate cereal and donuts...okay, day two, I am ALL out of ideas, no cash in hand (did you know I worked at a bank, valuable lesson #1 ALWAYS have cash somewhere). No electricity, no gas, no debit card machines working and very little food to feed the SIX ppl staying under one roof. I guess my husband already knew lesson #1, so he was a life saverwith the cash. Lesson #2...kids in a house with parents that otherwise normally work, with no good food, no baybsitter as Maria called it (TV) no hot water, no lights and no heat is not a pretty site. Ohh and no grandparents to take care of them...even worse...FYI my mom left the house on Tues. morning for work ( at the electric company Inter county energy) and came home the following Tuesday night. It's a shame salary positions don't get overtime. Now she's back at work for no telling how many more days/nights. Several ppl still do not have electric but they are working as hard as they can...I PROMISE. Day 3 and 4 we finally got to Bryans generator and hooked up two refridgerators, and a deep freeze full of a BRAND NEW BEEF we had killed, along with all of the necessities like a coffee pot, curling iron, TV, and lamps. Needless to say it has been an eventful week. I am still not caught up with all the laundry and house work from being gone, you would think that not being there it would have stayed clean but with all of the tracking in and out we did, checking on our house, including the cat and the water pipes...I think that my house got more dirty than if we had been there. Not to mention that poor little Austin (who is my "schedule" and "routine" kid) is ALL OUT OF WHACK. He hasn't stopped whinning and being crabby since last Wednesday. He litterally wakes up in the morning attaches himself to my leg and cries when we pry him away so that I can go to work. Hopefully we will get him all back on track by week-end. I will get some pictures up soon, until then keep warm and love electricity.

December is OVER
December Is OVER
Thank goodness, December was waaayyy tooooooo complicated. Jan. so far has been nice and easy. My NEW plan is to try and keep my life that way too. Although I don't do resolutions, if I did, I would have to say that I would do what everyone else in the world does. Loose weight, get in shape, simplify my life/schedule. Of course I need to do all of these but hey, I would be like the rest of the world on that too......FAIL. My favorite saying is "If it were easy, everyone would do it...but its not, therefore that is why there are some of us out there who have to keep this world fat, out of shape and busy....That's me.....just contributing to society.....you're welcome.
Ok just kidding, lets get serious, Christmas was good, it was all a big blurrr, it went something like this. Go to work, come home change clothes, go somewhere open presents, eat, load up go somewhere else, eat, open presents fight over toys, load up go home crash, get up the next morning and; Go somewhere, eat, open presents fight over toys, load up, go somewhere else, open presents, fight over toys, eat, load up, go home, crash for 45 min, load up go somewhere else open presents, Yes EAT, Fight with our kids (b/c of course no one got there nap out) fight over toys, and load up...go home, crash and get up the next morning and go to work.
Tired yet, this is a true story only it was much more EXCITING (to say the least) in real life. I believe that it took me until Jan. 4 yes another true story....Jan 4 to actually unload all of the christmas presents from my car because we had to create more space in our house before unloading. Sad but true.... at how we are so spoiled.
Jan. is going to be a pretty lazy month of just hanging out and trying to clean my house up from all of the slacking I did in December....my laundry room is killing me right now. Some of the pics I included are from Christmas morning and Austins bed head, as well as the barn that my mom had made from Pop Pops tobacco sticks (how cool)??? Also are some pics of our New Years Eve get together.

Boys, Boys, Boys
Boy do they grow up fast. And where in the world do they come up with some of the stuff they come up with???? The other day I told Austin " no" and he ran out of his room and pointed that finger at me and said...."Don't you say me no" I mean come on, I thought I had till 4 years old before the back talk came....guess not....And Avery, he is hilarious. We were looking at the photo album from when Austin was little, and I said " AWWWW look at him, mommy is sad because we done have any little babies around here anymore" (and here's where I went wrong) " Avery don't you think that we need to have a baby sister..." and without missing a beat he said (just as serious as could be) " There is no sense in a little sister...I mean we have two boys and that's enough there is no need for a little sister...." Where do they learn these things???? (I think Avery got that one from his daddy, what do you think). It's hard to stop and enjoy these little things in life with everything being so busy around our house. This week has got to be the worst...Monday I cooked dinner for six and Tuesday I have a mtg after work and then Avery's Christmas...I mean Holiday Program at school and then on Wednesday I have a Christmas dinner for work and then have a City Council mtg....Thursday I am actually off work, but have a chiropractor appt., Family Pictures, a catering event AND BRYANS BIRTHDAY, guess he's gonna feel left out huh. Friday is a journey around Perryville, to all of the churches and Saturday is Avery's school Holiday Bazar AND Matthew's birthday party...I can't even remeber whats going on Sunday, but I hope nothing, cause I prolly gonna need a nap. Pray for us to get through this week and stay sain....staying sain.....are you kidding me, in our crazy, wild, loud household with two, I mean three (if you count Bryan) kids running around playing all the time....isn't it great?
